Who am I?

There’s no “we” at JustApeach, just me. My journey creating jewellery started when I was a young child. My dad taught me how to braid so of course special ones received colourful friendship bracelets that were always appreciated, especially by my parents.

Creating in all capacities made me happy but there was something extra special when I saw those creations worn proudly by others.

Five years ago when the world was chaotic and uncertain, a skilled and wonderful friend invited me to spend time out the back of his opal shop in Kuranda where he had his silversmith workshop. There he taught me the ways of the craft, melting, moulding, setting, problem solving and of course, an added appreciation for opals.

That same workbench from Kuranda is now in my home workshop with stained glass windows that look out onto my garden and the surrounding rainforest. The natural world will always be my biggest inspiration and it’s why crystals and gemstones feature heavily in my pieces. How amazing that the earth produces such beautiful stones over millions of years and how lucky we are to wear and appreciate them in the form of jewellery.

I will always be slow made, mass produced fast fashion trends have no place in JustApeach. I want to create pieces that will be worn over and over again that light up your soul.
